A film about the life and work of cinematographer Sergey Astakhov, who shot over 70 feature films. The secret to his success lies in a unique combination of artistic intuition and the talent of an engineer-inventor. The film portrays Sergey Astakhov in a variety of situations – on set, building his house, constructing a chapel, at a children's Christmas celebration... Everywhere, his energy and love for life make him irresistibly charismatic.
Was born in 1956 in Rybinsk. Graduated from VGIK as a cinematographer (1987). Director of photography at Lenfilm Studio, worked on films such as Giselle’s Mania, Through the Back Door, Day of the Beast, and others, as well as a number of documentaries at the St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio. Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, the Russian Guild of Non-Fiction Film and Television, the Russian Guild of Cinematographers, and Imago. Professor at SPbGUKiT.
