Every year, spring floods wash away the bridge connecting the village of Nevezhkino to the mainland. The locals take the disaster in stride, even creating a holiday – the Day of the Flooded Bridge. Boris Zozulya grew up in the city but moved to Nevezhkino into the house left by his grandfather, where he is now chronicling the history of the village. Fellow villagers help Boris in his historical quest. This is a film about why, unlike many of his peers who abandon rural life, Boris decided to stay in Nevezhkino. The bridge becomes a symbol of the continuity of generations and the hero’s spiritual journey.
